SpielerPlus wins the 2024 DIGITAL MEDIA AWARD in the “digitalization” category
Since 2014, the SpielerPlus app has been helping teams and clubs with digital transformation in recreational sports. SPM Sportplatz Media is pleased to announce that SpielerPlus has won the 2024 DIGITAL MEDIA AWARD from the Federal Association for Digital Media and MAWAVE in the “Digital Transformation” category.
In 2024, the Federal Agency for Digital Media presented the DIGITAL MEDIA AWARD for the second time in six different categories. In the “Digitalization” category, the award recognized initiatives and projects that drive digitalization forward and thereby enrich the future.
The range of participating companies spanned from large corporations to small and medium-sized businesses and startups. In total, more than 160 entries were submitted. Following a vote by 26 independent judges from various fields related to digital media, a total of 30 cases were selected for the final awards ceremony and shortlisted across six categories. In the end, SpielerPlus prevailed in the “Digitalization” shortlist, beating out well-known companies such as REWE and Stepstone, among others.
As a team management app for over 120 sports, SpielerPlus already helps more than 4,5 million coaches and athletes with organization and communication. Thanks to this digital solution, users have more valuable time to devote to sports. “In addition to daily user feedback, this award is a wonderful recognition of our ongoing commitment to sports, volunteer work, and everyone involved,” says Marcel Hager, CEO of SPM Sportplatz Media.
He continued: “Sports clubs are one of the most essential pillars of our society. They foster social engagement, inclusion, integration, tolerance, and health to a degree—in my opinion—that is completely underestimated, both in quality and quantity.” "We are very proud to support millions of volunteers in their work, and we are delighted to see that digitalization is becoming increasingly important and gaining greater public recognition in recreational sports. I hope that in the future, policymakers and major brands will become more actively involved in promoting 'recreational sports.' Digitalization is just one of the many challenges our clubs face today."
